The Aga Khan Rural Support Programme (AKRSP) is an institution of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN). Established by the Aga Khan Foundation in 1982, AKRSP has been working in Federally Administered Gilgit Baltistan and district Chitral of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in the field of integrated rural development with the mission to promote inclusive human development and eradicate extreme poverty.
Applications are invited from competent young professionals to fill in the position of Agriculture Marketing Specialist based at Satpara Development Project (SDP), AKRSP, Skardu.
Job Purpose:
To identify agribusiness opportunities in SDP area and assist in building the capacities of local farmers/entrepreneurs to start farm businesses and for the provision of efficient marketing of farm products in and outside Gilgit-Baltistan.
Experience required:
5 years of related work experience with the knowledge of marketing techniques and agri-business linkages between small mountain farmers and high end markets. Experience in maintaining relationships with key market players of prioritized value chains and exposure to community based business models will be an advantage. Working experience with reputed development organizations would be considered as an additional asset.
