Project Summary: 

In May 2015, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a five-year contract to Management Systems International (MSI) to provide performance management support to USAID-sponsored development programs throughout Pakistan. The Performance Management Support Contract (PERFORM) will serve as a centralized management support mechanism supporting USAID/Pakistan’s mission to increase stability, democracy, and prosperity for the men and women of Pakistan through the implementation of the Mission Strategic Framework (MSF). PERFORM will provide  data and information to help project managers improve project results through better implementation and design, as well as services that support the Mission’s learning and adaptive process, enabling it to better target its programming and achieve its goals and objectives. The performance components will include: (1) Monitoring Services; (2) Evaluation Services; (3) Assessment Services; and (4) Learning Support Services.

 

Position Summary:

MSI is recruiting for a Travel Coordinator. The Travel Coordinator will be responsible for handling travel, transport, and lodging tasks at MSI's office in Pakistan. He/she will report to the Administration manager, and will work closely with project employees and partner organizations to contribute to the success of PERFORM .

This is a full-time position based in Islamabad, Pakistan. It is expected to begin immediately and last through April 2020.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Make necessary arrangements for the arrival and departure of National staff / consultants;
  • Preparation and submission of expense reports of PERFORM travelers;
  • Preparation of payment vouchers of hotels and travel agent related to staff lodging and travel;
  • Coordinate with PERFORM’s Security Manager to ensure that all security protocols are in place for staff traveling to the field;
  • Manage travel activities of PERFORM teams in Pakistan, including lodging, ground transportation and flights;
  • Track all local hotel reservations, flights, and events;
  • Develop corporate relationships with travel agents, hotel operators,  caterers;
  • Obtain quotes for travel and lodging services as required; and update all relevant corporate rate agreements;
  • Check incoming invoices to ensure accuracy and ensure timely settlement;
  • Maintain and update files and database related to MSI staff travel;
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the Administration Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Four-Year BA degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in arranging travel, lodging, and providing staff with logistical support in Pakistan;
  • Experience with USAID funded projects is strongly preferred;
  • High degree of professionalism, adaptability and organization;
  • Highly organized with keen attention to details, and has ability to prioritize multiple tasks;
  • Strong sense of self-direction and the ability to carry out tasks with little oversight;
  • Fluency in English and Urdu required;
  • Strong IT skills including proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required;
