Background: The position is for an international development project working to deliver social infrastructure across Pakistan.

 

Position Summary:           

This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day administration and people management of the School Support Team to ensure they are able to provide technical support and other capacity building interventions delivery to District Education Officers, PTC/SC and CCSI members and the community.

 Location: Punjab Districts

 Reporting and Supervision: The District Manager reports to Provincial Director.

 

Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Establish good interpersonal relationships within the SST.
  • Proactively build effective working relationships with District Education Officers (DEOs).
  • Create a win-win environment by gaining agreement from partners before taking partnership-oriented actions.
  • Professionally oversee and evaluate members of the SST by collating and providing analysis about performance back to the team and to management.
  • Help the SST members to analyze their work, e.g. in relation to their time management skills and their attention to detail.
  • Provide effective administration of all Human Resources Management elements of the SST, including: recruitment and selection, induction, training, and performance management.
  • Authorization of all SST cash payment transactions: Staff Advances, Travel Allowances, Per Diems and Petty Cash transactions (within set project parameters).
  • Ensure SST Specialists use Capacity Assessment and Training Needs Analysis (TNA) tools to identify related training gaps, including Cross Cutting elements, of:
    • PTC/SCs;
    • CCSIs;
    •  Contractors;
    • School Support Team Colleagues; an
    • DEO’s
  • Ensure Capacity Building Plans are compiled, scheduled and agreed with SST Specialists for addressing identified capacity gaps amongst all Customer groups and the SST specialists.
  • Coordinate the delivery of project related training interventions on all project related modules to all Customer segments.
  • Direct and participate in the organization and delivery of Introduction Cluster Training for DEOs, PTC/SCs, and CCSIs.
  • Provide generic management training to SST members such as Time Management, Interviewing, Meeting Management / Participation, Negotiation Presentation / Public Speaking, Stress Management.
  • Provide accurate and timely activity based reporting as per project SOPs: weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.
  • Provide informative, timely and effectively presented written reports/numerical data as required.

 

Minimum Qualification and Experience required:

  • A relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a relevant Master’s Degree being desirable.
  • 7-10 years of experience of people management in a related sector is desirable.
  • Written and spoken English (business conversation)  as well as local language(s);
  • IT Literacy: able to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel at an intermediate level plus has knowledge of Smartphone / tablet  applications;
  • Three years’ experience in the Education Sector, Capacity Building Initiatives and / or Infrastructure Development is desirable.
  • Understanding of local community and cultural sensitivities;
