Project Summary: 

Chemonics International, an international development consulting firm based in Washington, D.C., seeks qualified candidates for an anticipated project in Pakistan funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development’s Office of Transition Initiatives. This project will build upon ongoing work under the current Pakistan Transition Initiative (PTI) program, aiming to counter violent extremism and build a foundation for political and social development in conflict-prone communities in Pakistan. We are seeking technical experts and project managers, preferably with prior experience in working on development projects. This anticipated project is expected to span over 3 years and will focus on areas of Northern Sindh, Southern Punjab, and Karachi. 

We are seeking creative individuals with a passion for making a difference in people’s lives to serve as Program Development Officers and apply their knowledge of media outlets, public outreach, civil society organizations, local and national government, and countering violent extremism to design and implement program concepts for development and stabilization activities. Selected individuals will become part of our proposal team and later be hired once and if the Project has been awarded to Chemonics International Inc. The individual holding this position will be responsible to:

  • Identify potential grantees through networking and outreach and develop grant concepts and activities through an iterative process, including providing guidance and mentoring potential partners
  • Prepare, present, and analyze grant concepts, applications, and grant agreement/award documents to ensure consistency with program objectives
  • Evaluate grants progress, and coordinate with grantees and the monitoring and evaluation staff to ensure that monitoring and evaluation data and final reports are submitted in a timely manner
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders in Pakistan

Relevant Experience and Qualifications:

  • Designing project concepts for development activities
  • Knowledge on one or more of the following areas for project development: conflict mitigation, youth programs, media/communications, public administration, local government, community development, capacity building
  • Experience in developing and finalizing multiple project activities, on an ongoing basis, in a fast-paced and highly changeable environment; Experience working with donor-funded projects will be preferred
  • University degree in a relevant field desired, but not required
