Position Title: Security Guard

BACKGROUND: CRS Pakistan is currently working in the following sectors: education, drought mitigation, WASH, livelihoods, and protection sectors. Alongside this, CRS continues to work in the areas of emergency response and disaster preparedness & mitigation.
CRS has been working on Drought Mitigation in Tharparkar District since 2004. The Drought Mitigation project has focused on improving household and community resilience to drought through water infrastructure, water efficiency for multiple purposes, Natural Resource Management (NRM), improved agricultural productivity, and improved livestock health and productivity.
Currently, CRS is preparing to initiate a new, six month project that will build on CRS previous experience to support improved resilience for drought-affected communities and households in Tharparkar. This project will focus on livestock productivity, including immediate response to the current severe drought and improving mitigation and coping strategies for future droughts. CRS hopes to secure continued funding for disaster risk management in the future.
JOB SUMMARY:The Security guard is responsible for providing security to the designated premises, assets and staff of the CRS field office Mithi.
FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
 Ensure the safety of the CRS designated premises and of all persons occupying or visiting the same at all times as well as the property contained therein
 Provide surveillance and oversight of all CRS property; notify the Supervisor of any suspicious activities or incidents and complete reports as required
 Prevent entry into the CRS designated premises of any person not authorized by the management or that of any person who lacks proper identification; ensure that visitors sign the guest registry as determined for the premises
 Notify Supervisor and/or Security Focal person immediately in the case of: injury or damage to person or property, fire or riots, or in case of property damage in the event of force majeure or in any other situation with which the guard on duty cannot cope alone
 In the case of the replacement of guard either late or completely absent, notify the CRS contact person and stay at the post until further instructed
 When there are no persons in the residence, ensure all doors and windows on buildings and vehicles are secured
 Notify Supervisor in advance of any absence or forfeit the pay for the shift and possibly face dismissal for unauthorized leave
 Ensure proper professional appearance, including personal grooming and uniform upkeep (to be provided by CRS)
 To be engaged solely with CRS and no other employer during this contract period
 Remain alert and attentive and at the duty post during the complete time of duty; sleeping or departures from the post of duty will lead to termination
 Take proper care of CRS property made available for service (fan, torch, guard house). Under no circumstances can CRS or CRS staff property or items be used or accessed apart from those provide by CRS or CRS staff
Emergency Response:
As CRS/Pakistan responds to disaster situations, Security Guard may be called upon to support emergency operations. Willingness and flexibility to perform tasks other than described in this job description and work longer hours than normal as necessary to complete critical tasks is required.

Qualifications:
 Secondary School Certificate
 Minimum two to three years of experience in the relevant field.

 Basic English skills, take and share simple messages
