General Functions
The Grants Writer will be part of the Grants Unit and will be responsible for preparation and writing of all new grants and project proposals. The grants writer will be compiling the comprehensive and all other grant related reports and will also be reviewing and editing grant budgets. The Grants Writer will work under the overall supervision of the Program Manager and will report directly to the Grants Unit Manager.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent’s duties will include but not be limited to the following:
- Preparation and writing of all new grant/project proposals.
- Coordinating with Operations and other program units to obtain necessary information required for grant writing purposes.
- Compiling the comprehensive report on a weekly basis as well as the quarterly and annual reports, and others as necessary.
- Reviewing and editing grant budgets.
- Compiling ‘success stories’ reflecting program impact.
- Extension of support to the M&E team including reviewing FER’s and sending for closure.
- Maintaining constant liaison with program staff.
- Ensuring up-to-date and accurate information pertaining to regional background and overviews for grants.
- Organizing and maintaining program records and documentation on file for tracking and reporting.
- Submission of grants for clearance, maintenance of grant projectization cost tracking sheet and any other assigned duty.
Qualification and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent.
- Grants Writer must have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with community development project implementation; should have excellent writing skills and knowledge of FATA areas its government structure and geography. The Grants Writer must have the capacity to understand and analyze national, regional, and local politics, and the creativity and analytical capacity to design and implement grants with the interface between government and communities.
Languages
- Fluency in English is required, Urdu and Pushto is a plus.
