General Background and Position Description

USAID Power Distribution Program (PDP) is providing assistance to the government owned Power Distribution Companies of Pakistan (DISCOs), with the aim to curtail losses, enhance revenues and have a well regulated power distribution system in Pakistan.  PDP’s assistance, in its current phase, is geared towards Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) and Peshawar Electric Power Company (PESCO) and will end in Septmber 2015.

Graphic Designer will be required to work on thematic campaign ideas, design all IEC material, promotional items, banners, backdrops etc. and provide support to the AV team with graphics and flash banners/ supers for all electronic productions.  

Relevant Experience:

  • Arts graduate from a reputable institution with a minimum of 5 years hands on advertising agency experience in development of mass media campaigns preferably on behavior change communication.  
  • Be well acquainted with latest design software including Illustrator, Photoshop, Freehand, Adobe Flash, Quark Express as well as In page (Urdu).

Job Description:

  • Visualize and design visibility and branding material for PDP including but not limited to PESCO and MEPCO.
  • Visualize and design frequently used material such as event backdrops, banners, standees and flyers etc.
  • Be the focal person for designing mass media campaigns and PDP’s monthly pictorial.
  • Take the lead in designing of PESCO and MEPCO’s monthly newsletter and other periodic reports.
  • Assist in the design and development of PESCO’s official website.
  • Assist the communications team in photography of events and training sessions.
  • Be aware and ensure branding guidelines of USAID, PESCO and MEPCO are being met in all external communication designs and documents.
  • Serve as the point of contact for designing organizational promotional material including annual report, calendars, dairies, giveaways etc.
  • Play active role in all PDP, PESCO & MEPCO’s media and outreach campaigns with artistic and creative inputs.
  • Provide flash banners, sub-titles, graphics and ‘supers’ for quality enhancement of all in-house Audio Visual productions.
  • Suggest specifications and ensure quality in printing and execution of artwork is maintained with proper material.
