Position Summary:

The Senior Coordinator for Private Sector Engagement will be responsible for recruiting, qualifying, and linking private sector firms with opportunities in ESP value chains

 

Reporting & Supervision:

The Senior Coordinator for Private Sector Engagement reports to the Deputy Chief of Party. The position will also work closely with the Senior Medium and Small Business Advisor, Senior Agriculture Advisor and Senior Field Coordinator to ensure appropriate support of program activities at the agency level.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Together with the Senior Medium and Small Business Advisor, identify Public-Private Partnership (PPP) opportunities and advise how to structure and implement PPPs

  • Facilitate an ESP Private Sector Advisory Board to convene FS, tribal and commercial entities for the purpose of exploring with ESP technical staff PPPs for FATA value chains

  • Organize activities to build strong, sustainable relationships between private sector actors, especially between those in the settled areas, and FATA Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and producers

  • Organize FATA producers into groups to help incentivize larger private sector actors to work with them in a cost-effective manner

  • Establish business and trade associations from groups of producers to serve as a shared platform for MSEs

  • Develop a scope of work outlining the private sector’s activity and identifying the mechanism, levels of funding, and cost-share

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • University degree in Economics, Business Administration, International Development or

       a relevant discipline; advanced degree preferred

  • 5-10 years of experience in donor-funded projects; previous experience with USAID funded projects preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in private sector engagement, marketing, value chains, public-private partnerships and/or microfinance

  • Experience in organizing capacity building events for micro and small enterprises

  • Strong business management and financial analysis skills

  • Proven background of engaging with agribusinesses

  • Fluency in English and local languages required

  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
