Operations Director

Chemonics seeks an operations director for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Pakistan targeting the private sector and supporting small-medium enterprises (SME) in various industries. This position will be based in Islamabad or Lahore.

Responsibilities:

• Serve key leading role in activity start-up and will manage the flow of short-term consultants engaged throughout the life of the activity
• Provide overall support to project leadership, oversight of day-to-day operations, and management of administrative staff and local subcontractors.
• Budgeting, financial management, procurement, and  recruitment
• Manage and ensure overall functioning of the office is in compliance and conformity with USAID rules and regulations, Chemonics’ best practices and policies, and Pakistani law

Qualifications:

• Significant project backstopping, compliance, and budgeting experience
• Knowledge and familiarity with USAID regulations and Chemonics’ best practice operating procedures
• Masters in Business Administration or a related field  
• Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, including experience managing USAID-funded development projects in the field  
• Proficiency in English and Urdu required; knowledge of Pashto desirable.
