Business Enabling Environment Component
Lead

Chemonics seeks a business enabling environment component lead for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Pakistan targeting the private sector and supporting small-medium enterprises (SME) in various industries. This position will be based in Islamabad or Lahore.

Qualifications:

• Proven leadership and management experience implementing successful reform programs to improve business enabling environments in areas such as trade, business registration and licensing. 
• Demonstrated experience with multiple facets of private sector development; particularly export product-market successes, public-private partnerships, small and medium enterprise creation and development, workforce development, and infrastructure development.
• Knowledge and understanding of provincial economic policies, laws and regulations of the Punjab and institutional capacity strengthening for private sector development.
• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in economics, public policy, business administration, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in orchestrating successful business development policy, regulatory and legal reforms to strengthen selected value chains and improving the business enabling environment in Pakistan
• Knowledge and prior experience of USAID operations, programming, and structure a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Urdu required; knowledge of Pashto desirable.
