Chemonics International seeks a Chief of Party for the USAID-funded Pakistan Regional Economic Integration Activity (PREIA) to improve the trade environment in Pakistan. The focus areas will include improving the Government’s ability to develop and implement reforms to policies which affect trade, strengthen private sector and civil society’s engagement in trade policy-making and its reform, improving regional trade and transit facilitation, and improving regional business to business linkages. The project will work to expand exports, create more competitive enterprises, and increase employment opportunities. The project will be based in Islamabad.
The COP will be PREIA’s senior supervisor and ultimately responsible for meeting all Activity
deliverables. The COP will serve as the PREIA’S principal point-of-contact for USAID and must adjust the Activity and operations in response to USAID’s technical direction. S/he will also be the main contact for local stakeholders, including government, private sector, academia, civil society and donor counterparts. The Activity will depend upon the COP’s understanding of international markets and trade issues such as trade policy, implementation of trade agreements and customs reforms to provide strategic guidance and leadership related to the planning, management, and implementation of the Activity. The COP will oversee all aspects of PREIA’s performance, both technical and managerial. The COP will also oversee any implementing partners, ensuring timely progress against schedules, achievement of deliverables, and quality of results.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 15 years serving in leadership roles similar to a COP in international trade development activities of a similar scope as PREIA.
- At least 5 years’ experience in establishing relationships with international stakeholders.
- A Master's degree in Economics, Business, or a related field. In lieu of a Master's degree, a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience is required.
