Fashion Designing

Relevant Experience:

• 3 years’ experience in Fashion-Designing
• Having knowledge of marketing and sales
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Experience of working in communities and ability to work with diverse groups of people

Job Description:

• To provide training to senior tailoring instructors in dress designing/dress making
• To develop course curriculum for short courses in dress designing and making ladies and kids garments

• To supervise all aspects of dress-making including fabric selection and purchasing fabrics and other needed material
• To designing a range by understanding consumer needs, researching latest fashion trends and then translating the same into designs.
• To be abreast with the latest fashion trends/forecast be it fabrics, colors, styles or silhouettes.
•  Have the ability to create /visualize an idea and producing/sketching a design by hand or using computer-aided design (CAD)
• Keeping up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics,colors and shapes
• Understanding design from a      technical perspective, i.e. producing patterns, toiles and technical specifications for designs
• Developing a pattern that is cut and sewn into sample garments and supervising the making up of these, including fitting, detailing and adaptations;
• To negotiate with customers and suppliers in local market
• Arrange exhibitions for products To work closely with Job Placement Officer for developing linkages with potentials employers/ boutiques owners/ garment stores  for placement of training graduates on sustainable basis
• To identify, assess and select trainees for advance tailoring courses      
• To supervise and provide technical assistance to training instructors  and trainees in product design and design development in training centers
• To visit different boutiques and garments stores in local market for new product design ideas by knowing traditional craft
• To maintain/keep record of costing sheets and technical specs of each and every design that is sampled
• Any other task assigned by Chief Executive
