Main Role & Responsibilities of warehouse Assistant:
- Carry out tasks within guidelines laid down by managers / supervisor.
- Tasks are usually routine but will require the use of initiative and/or basic planning.
- May be responsible for supervising one or more support staff, including basic planning of day to day work.
- Required to gather and give information to supervisors, managers.
- Contributes to improvements in processes. Ensure that all goods are stored and packed safely and securely.
- Ensure that stock levels are recorded correctly on bin cards.
- Check deliveries of goods for quality and quantity, and record details on goods received forms.
- Organize the manual loading and unloading of vehicles when necessary.
- Compile regular stock reports and stock reconciliations, and ensure that discrepancies in stock levels are reported to the line manager.
- Providing support and information on areas of work covered in their remit.
- Implements RP Policies to manage warehouse.
- Day to day planning in line with departmental priorities.
- Ensure proper management of warehouse including security and maintenance of warehouse inventory system including regular reporting of inventory.
- Establish and maintain good contacts with suppliers and other organisations.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCE
- Bachelors with good knowledge and experience of warehousing, including basic administration.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Ability to keep clear and concise records.
- Preferably 2 years experience of warehousing
- Effective communication Skills.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Commitment to issues of gender, diversity.
- Computer skills will be required.
