Job Title:                Project Manager (PM)

Organization:         Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.v, Johanniter International Assistance

Job Location:         Kandhkot/Kashmore Sindh

Reporting to:            Operational Manager/Program Manager

Job Responsibilities:

1. The Project Manager will be responsible for implementation of Johanniter CMAM Project.

2.  He will realize the recommendation of Logical Framework and Project proposal and follow the given Project Budget. PM is also responsible for Projects Finance, Administration and Logistic through effective Collaboration with the respective Departments in Country Office Islamabad

3. The Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the Project, He/ She provides support and supervision to all Project Staff.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1.            Project implementation:

  • Facilitate and provide assistance to Project development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation at all levels.
  • Initiate and support the preparation of detailed plans of action, procurement and corresponding budget; to be reviewed and submitted to the J-I Country Office in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the planning and budgeting of Procurement, field activities in coordination with his field- and administrative Staff.
  • Facilitate a process to ensure that activities follow the overall framework of the Project objectives and results.
  • Ensure that Project implementation is in accordance with the J-I policies and guidelines.
  • Ensure effective coordination with stakeholders at filed level, including I/NGO’s UN Agencies and governmental agencies.
  • In coordination with the Project Coordinator implement monitoring tools and collect information from the filed in order to consolidate in the reports.
  • Ensure accountability of human, material, and financial resources related to the CMAM Project at all levels (community, union council, tehsil and district)

2.       Reporting/ communication:

  • Weekly/ monthly follow-up: from the field in coordination with the Project Coordinator and consolidate them in a monthly/quarterly report.
  • Consolidate and forward narrative and financial report to J-I Country office
  • Maintain effective working relationship. Attend relevant state, provincial and district sector coordination meetings.
  • Ensure that J-I is well informed about all aspects of the Project at all times.
  • Facilitate and support the visits of J-I Headquarters, Country Office staff, consultants etc
  1. 3.       Human resources
  • Develop a well-functioning team with a good team spirit to implement the CMAM Project.
  • Supervise the J-I filed team and support them in programming, and reporting tasks in close cooperation with the Technical and Operational departments.
  • Undertake on-the-job training of project employed staff and volunteers through all stages of the process (project development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation).
  • Undertake regular and frequent support and monitoring visits to the project sites and participate in periodic reviews and evaluations (internal as well as external).
  • Facilitate regular meetings, coordinate the work and manage filed teams.
  • Establish and close contact to and promote that all stakeholders at all levels are involved to ensure a smooth implementation and achievement of objectives

4.       Coordination

  • Coordinate the project activities with J-I Country office and to ensure synergy of approaches.

5.       Finance and Administration:

  • Prepare with the CMAM Project team a detailed budget forecast for the activities implementation and have them approved by Administrator.
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial expenditure report against allocated budget.

Required qualification, Experience & Skills:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent
  • At least 5 years’ experience in managing the implementation of community based projects
  • Excellent written and spoken Urdu and English.
  • Possess training skills and knowledge of IEC materials
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Working knowledge in Windows and MS Office.
