Project Coordinator DRR

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To enhance community resilience and community capacity in the DRR World vision Pakistan is initiating DRR project in Punjab, World Vision Pakistan needs services of Project Coordinators to be based in Muzafargarh for effective implementation and coordination of the project. Project Coordinator will be responsible for overall implementation of the DRR project in flood affected area.  

Major Activities: 

• Work closely with the ADM in needs assessment, project design and development of relevant indicators.
• To develop plan of action and detailed  implementation Plan (DIP) for the respective project in the respective project area.
• To organize and lead orientation session on the DRR project intervention. to the colleagues in the area office.
• Promote networking and coordination with local partner NGOs. International agencies to cover wider awareness raising, monitoring and advocacy, in particular DRR Network in the respective areas , and working groups 
• Organize and lead capacity building sessions for Project staff, WV team , stakeholders and community representatives on the Community Based disaster Risk Reduction, Community Owned Vulnerability and capacities assessment and  analysis and community level disaster preparedness plans.
• Ensure  the proper utilization of project budget as indicated in the detailed budget
• Conduct regular project visits, assess the progress and impact of the implemented programs and provide progress reports to ADM and sector specialist.
• Develop weekly/bi weekly/ monthly report on the DRR   intervention to be shared with Area Manger, sector lead on regular basis including financial utilization.
• Organize frequent sessions on the implementation of project to line manager and relevant  staff of the organization.
• Coordinate and organize hazard and vulnerability analysis of the target areas and design DRR intervention for mitigation and preparedness
• Represent WV Pakistan in the clusters/working group and other forum related to DRR /M              
• Prepare timely objective reports, work plans, review and other reports as required to submit to the ADM/Sector leads Program Officer and Support offices.
• Ensure that the quality of the project and its outcome is in line with humanitarian standards like Humanitarian Accountability, SPHERE standards as well as WV’s standard requirements.
• Coordinate with other WVP departments in timely and effective project implementation for procurement, warehousing and distributions.
• Assist in all procurement activities related to DRR project in order to guarantee cost-efficient, appropriate, environmentally sound and qualitative procurement mechanisms
• To initiate and finalize the recruitment of project staff in the respective area office in close coordination with Area Manger and   human resource officer.
• Carrying out any other tasks assigned by the Project Manager      
• During Project implementation to observe  cultural sensitivity and Codes of Conduct which must be kept up-held for putting the stakeholders at comfort for achieving better results without disturbing the local norms. 
• Liaise with the WV Pakistan focal person to identify any problems or issues arising and to provide updates on the progress.
• Present draft findings of the project intervention
• Preparation and provision of training reports to both in Urdu and English.
• To maintain records of all meetings, field work, assessments,  strategies, distributions by household, cluster, and village.
• To write program  plans, weekly reports and final reports as needed

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Masters in social/natural(environmental sciences )  and work experience.

5-7 years Emergecy response or early recovery and development sector experience.

Significant proven experience in DRR or emergency preparedness

Ability to arrange and conduct trainings

Effective interpersonal skills

Ability of working in mixed gender/ethnic environment
