Job Title: Project Officer
Salary: 59,000 to 65,000 PKR

Responsible To: DRR Officer
Responsible For: DRR project district Nowshera
Key relationships:
• Internally: Program department, implementing partners
• Externally: OPAs/CBOs, local partners/NGOs, various platforms and networks and District stakeholders.
Position Purpose
HelpAge International is having a network of older people associations in District Nowshera. We are aiming to build on the existing structures and replicating the good practices in the local partner programme activities.
The Project Officer will coordinate with the local partners and provide technical support for inclusion of all vulnerable groups in all project activities.
S/he is responsible for representing HelpAge International at district level forums and advocacy events of local partners at provincial and national level.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the DRR Officer, the person will be responsible for ensuring the inclusion of vulnerable groups in all project activities, sharing and documenting the good practices during the project.
The person must fulfil the following responsibilities:
Roles and responsibilities
- The Project Officer will have the overall responsibility to implement, coordinate and liaison with local Partners and align HelpAge International plan to the overall project implementation plan.
- S/he is also responsible to develop a common platform for sharing local partners’ learning and challenges in consultative, inclusive and participatory manner. In this capacity s/he will directly contribute in joint planning, implementation, and monitoring of the local partner project activities and also support inclusion officer for inclusion of vulnerable groups at every level.
- She/he will be responsible for coordination between the local partners and various governmental and non-governmental organizations, for consultation and advocacy on inclusion of vulnerable groups at District level.
- S/he will be responsible for building strong and collaborative relationships with the other relevant groups and networks like District DRR Forum.
- In coordination with inclusion Officer s/he will ensure that vulnerable groups are included in community risks assessment, development of Community Based Disaster Preparedness Plans (CBDP) and implementation of CBDP plans.
- Provide guidance and support to inclusion officer and local partner field staff to ensure that technical guidelines for the inclusion of vulnerable groups are implemented effectively.
- Monitor progress through field visits, review of indicators, and meetings with local partner staff, communities and other stakeholders.
- Arrange training and workshop on consultation, advocacy and lesson learnt or challenges of the project.
- Prepare periodic reports and case-studies.

Experience

Five to ten (5-10) years progressively responsible professional work experience in the field of Protection and DRR

Previous experience of working with vulnerable groups in DRR

Skills

Excellent data analysis skills (statistics, etc.),
Good knowledge of project management, approaches and methods,
Ability to anticipate, plan and organise team work
Ability to work in team and network with partners,
Excellent writing skills,
Excellent skills in computer (Word processing and data base software.)
Previous experience of working with donors like DiPECHO, DFID and DEC etc.
