PURPOSE OF POSITION

The purpose of the position is to drive the World Vision vehicles for official duty and maintain the assigned vehicles in a good condition by following World Vision established driving codes.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Drive the World Vision vehicles for official duties as assigned by the Resilience  officer.
  • To maintain proper functioning of the assigned vehicle. To fill in the logbook and check the following items each day:
    -  level of engine oil
    -  level of water in the cooling circuit
    -  level of brake fluids in brake and clutch circuit
    -  correct fastening of the battery
    -  condition of the radiator
    -  condition of the tires (pressure and quality)
    -  traces of oil-leakage under the car.
  • To check each day that all items listed in the logbook as 'Essential Equipment' are present in the vehicle and are functioning correctly. To inform the Logistical Supervisor without delay of any missing or non-functioning item.
  • To drive safely and carefully, observing the speed limits and traffic rules.
  • To fasten the seatbelt and clearly request passengers to do the same. It is not, however, the driver's responsibility to insist on the fastening of seatbelts.
  • To secure and guard the vehicle and cargo while on duty. The driver must always stay close to the vehicle. If the driver has to leave the vehicle, another WORLD VISION staff member must remain with the vehicle during the driver's absence.
  • To keep the inside and outside of the vehicle clean.
  • To notify the Resilience Officer immediately regarding any damage to the vehicle.
  • Avoid travelling to the areas those are out of bound for WV vehicles
  • Ensure security times are observed during travelling
