WASH Hygiene Promoter - MuzaffarGarh  

 Purpose Of Position:

 To work closely with communities in establishing WASH and sanitation facilities in the fields.To promote good hygiene practice in communities in order to reduce the risk of water and sanitation related communicable diseases. Coordinate with stakeholders to provide technical input wherever required.

 Major Responsibilities:

• Organize and mobilize the communities to play an effective role in promoting hygiene.
• To conduct WASH soft assessment on targeted area including Pre/post KAP survey, base line survey.
• To demonstrate the use of WASH specific items which need special knowledge for operation and maintenance, especially when using chemical i.e. water purification tablets, water treatment equipment's.
• Identification and training of community activist in the target communities as well as to supervise their work in the community.
• Group formation and strengthening in the target areas. Capacity building of local activist like paish Imam, teachers, shop keepers
• To conduct participatory approach in promoting good water, sanitation and hygiene practices in targeted area
• Organize different awareness program for community like global hand washing day, World water day and environment day.
• To conduct participatory monitoring of water and sanitation facilities usage and maintenance with community.
• Facilitate and organize training for community activist and for WASH committees, CCBs, CBOs, WOs and VOs in selected areas.
• To inform local authority and health department if there is outbreak in community that requires immediate response (advocacy)
• With the  support of WASH committees develop village profiles and collect information on various aspects of WASH in the target village for program  development and effective implementation.
• To document schedule plan, field report and update to Hygiene Promotion Team Leader in timely manner. Compilation of necessary documents like MIS.
• Report on the effect of  hygiene promotion  on lives of selected villages.
• Coordination and linkages with lined departments like government ,NGOs, INGOs and local leaders.
• Ensure Gender balance in the project activities .Ensure participation of female in all activities.
• Problem identification relating to WASH
• Assement of hard schemes and verification of hard ware relating to WASH in the targeted villages
• Identification and verification of beneficiaries for WASH NFI
• Cluster meeting, provincial working group meeting, sartorial working group meeting
• Implementations of CLTS approach in the target community.
• Implementation of PHAST approach in the target community

Education & Experience

• University degree in Public Health, Environmental Health or Social Development and relevant field.
• Experienced in CLTS and/or PHAST for 2 years
• Experienced in emergency responses or NGO works

Knowledge & Skills

• Experienced in conducting CLTS at least 2 years
• Experienced or knowledge of PHAST at least 2 years
• Excellent English Communication skills (oral and written)
• Thorough knowledge of MS office and Lotus Notes
• Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources
