PURPOSE OF POSITION 

To ensure compliance WV commodity Standards, this includes monitoring of commodities receipt, storage, dispatch, distribution monitoring and submission of timely, completely and accurate documentation and reporting.

The Compliance Officer will work under the Commodities Department and will spend 50% of his/her time in the field, monitoring commodity activities. 

Major Responsibilities: 

  •  Standards Work closely with the commodities team to ensure compliance with World Vision International standards in food projects, cash for work and NFI
  • Monitoring Develop and use monitoring tools such as checklists, to be used by all district offices in the management of food /NFI and Cash For Work (CFW). Carry out planned and random monitoring field visits to Food Distribution Points and warehouses to ensure conformity with set rules and procedures
  • Documentation  Checking all documentation generated by warehouse, field, CTS, and Commodity admin  & logistics ensuring they are  clear and accurate reports
  • Warehousing Carrying out warehouse inspections and PI to ensure proper commodity handling, storage, and distribution practices in warehouses.
  • Coordination Participate in the monthly distribution planning, M&E feedback sessions and close collaboration with all commodity sector and main office sectors
  • Reporting Periodic monitoring, evaluating and reporting on relevant issues regarding food/NFI distribution and other related issues
  • Compliance CSR Provide the monthly compliance CSR for food/NFI and GIK Work with the Commodity Office

 

Knowledge and Skills:

  • University Degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting
  • Ability to prepare written reports requiring reasoning and precision of expression
  • Ability to interpret and explain complex formal documents and systems and assist others to apply them.
  • Strong task management skills including attention to details
  • Knowledge of office systems, including experience with computer application (e.g. Word, Excel, E-mail, Lotus Notes).
  • Good English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Ability to prepare written reports requiring reasoning and precision of expression
