Job Description:

Essential Job Description/Scope of Work:

  • The Project Coordinator is responsible for the monitoring of the Project according to the applicable Standards
  • Supervise and guide the Project Officers-W&S in monitoring the Implementation of EC funded Project according to EC Standards on a field level to ensure high quality of the Project and options for timely intervention;
  • Develop result oriented Work plans according to the WASH Project Plans;
  • Oversee the designs and BOQs of construction/Rehabilitation of Buildings, latrines, Washing places and water storage tanks.
  • Ensure activities comply with appropriate national and international standards and are focused on improving the environmental health conditions of the beneficiaries.
  • Developing Monitoring Formats in close collaboration to the Manager MER to ensure a coherent and comparable Monitoring System for all WASH Projects
  • Supporting District Program Managers on project development and needs assessment process
  • Close collaboration with the DPMs in developing Proposals, Assessment Instruments, Implementing Plans to build their management-capacity
  • §  Provide routine training to the subordinate staff for their professional development.

  • Give technical advice and input to the Implementing Partner to build their technical capacity
  • Regular Communication to ensure timely identification of questions and problems
  • Providing regular progress reports to ensure a good flow of information
  • Submitting daily updates, and weekly and monthly reports to Manager on the targets achieved according to the work plan
  • Ensure all project documentation, agreements, important correspondences and other Project information are properly filed to ensure an immediate Allocation of all Project Information
  • Accompany project visitors to the field when required, in consultation with line supervisor;
  • Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications/Experience/Skills Requirement:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in technical field related to WASH.
  • Proven experience in technical surveying, project designing, implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, project planning, communication and time management skills
  • Experience in community based participatory development approaches strongly desired  
  • Computer literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and Technical Drawing Packages.
