Veterinarian - Killa Saifullah

Responsibilites:

• Be based in field offices to assist the District Manager to successfully implement Livestock for Life project activities in areas of intervention.
• Developing linkages and liaison with concerned line departments and key stakeholders.
• Capacity building of the CAHWs (Community Animal Health Workers) and other health professionals and government officials in target areas through training programs on various zoonotic diseases for raising awareness and prevention & response capacity building.
• Arranging awareness raising and vaccination campaigns at community level.
• Organizing capacity building programs for establishing and maintaining diseases surveillance mechanism from village-district level in coordination with the ZCC forum and government line departments.
• Assist in review of the existing approaches and materials used in addressing zoonotic diseases issues.
• Keep track record and manage program activities from field office.
• Assist in conducting Base line, need assessment and KAP surveys as and when required for the ongoing program or future programs in the target areas.
• Draft success stories, case studies or any notifiable event of disease/diseases outbreak.
• Prepare relevant sections of quarterly and annual reports and share with District Project Manager and APM.
• Any other official responsibility assigned by the concerned supervisor DPM, APM or PM for accomplishments of the project activities.

Qualification:

• DVM or Advanced degree in Animal Sciences.
• At least 2-3 years of progressive experience and proven track record of competence in livestock management & treatment practices, project reporting and development with NGOs/INGO.
• Strong leadership, communication and managerial skills.
• Ability and interest to work with a multi-ethnic team in a culturally appropriate manner.
• Work experience in unstable or conflict affected areas and willingness to work in very remote areas.
• Must be able to work independently and be a strong team player.
• Strong knowledge of computer programs (MS Word, MS Excel).
